Joseph Briglia, PMHNP
Joseph Briglia is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and native Virginian who partners with patients to actively engage in their psychiatric care and recovery. His approach emphasizes trust, collaboration, and evidence-based, best-outcomes medication management to support each patient’s mental health and wellness goals.
As someone who has lived and worked in Virginia for many years, Joe values the opportunity to serve individuals and families in the communities he calls home.
Joe provides psychiatric care for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, substance use disorders, and other serious mental health conditions. He focuses on comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and individualized treatment planning to help patients move toward stability and improved quality of life.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Joe spent more than a decade in behavioral health at UVA Community Health Prince William Medical Center as a psychiatric nurse providing direct patient care, team supervision, nursing management and leadership.
Joe earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with high honors from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors and a research focus from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia.
Outside of clinical practice, Joe enjoys painting, swimming, international cooking, meeting new people, and field and forest walks with his rescued coonhound, Coco.
