Dr. Lawrence Whitehurst returns to open a new practice in Wellspring Health Services.

After a 6 year absence and many medical adventures from Ajijic Mexico to the boundaries of Space itself as the senior civilian physician and flight surgeon with the new US Space Force, I have come home to the people I care most about. As a famous Virginian once put it so eloquently, “I am an American…but a Virginian first.” Medicine is constantly changing, evolving, and always exciting. I love the diversity, the breadth, and the joy of taking care of people, not just their diseases. I am committed to integrity, excellence, and service before self. I still believe in the slogan we coined for the 86th Air Force Medical Group in Germany, “Heroes caring for heroes.” I look forward to working again with old colleagues and meeting and learning from new ones.
