Petra Thomas is a board-certified pulmonary disease specialist. Dr. Thomas graduated from Temple University School of Medicine and completed residencies at Howard University and Washington Hospital Center. In addition to that, she also completed a 3 year fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at George Washington University.
With over twenty-five years of experience in the field, her practice goals have always been to improve patient outcomes and improve quality of life while working through various disease processes. Encouraging her patients to take an active and responsible role in managing their medical challenges has been a key component in her practice.
A native of Trinidad, WI, Dr. Thomas spent most of her youth in New York but has called the Washington Metropolitan Area home since graduating. Intrigued by the growing patient needs and the disparity in services available for her specialty in central Virginia, she has decided to bring her expertise to Culpeper under the Wellspring umbrella. Dr. Thomas also enjoys the performing arts, family gatherings, reading and even holds an Associate degree in digital design. She strives to approach patient care with the same enthusiasm, attention to detail and compassion that she does in all aspects of her life.
