Wellspring Health Services Behavior & Mental Health

We are pleased to announce that Peter Lewis, LCSW has joined the staff at Wellspring Health Services. He is providing clinical social work services, psychotherapy, and coordination of mental health care to adults, teens, and children. His work is integrated with patient care services at Wellspring to provide mental health treatment as part of Wellspring’s patient-centered focus on wellness and comprehensive care.

Peter comes to Culpeper from Naples, FL, where he worked in the community mental health field as a clinical supervisor and therapist at David Lawrence Center. His clinical perspective has a strength and resilience-based focus, and is informed by Jungian psychology, play therapy, Love & Logic Parenting, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He is passionate about the care of clients in their journey toward life-changing wellness and he places a high value on good relationships with clients, families, colleagues, and within the community.

Peter earned his Master of Social Work from Barry University. He then joined the David Lawrence Center Team in 2014. Prior to joining community services, he interned in various DLC programs including Children’s Community Services, Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Crossroads, and in the Immokalee outpatient office. He was lately providing treatment services to children, adolescents and families in the TBOS, and WRAP programs in Florida.

Originally from Waynesboro, VA, Peter has this to say about working in a small town environment. “I’ve visited Culpeper many times in the past and enjoyed the small town atmosphere and proximity to Washington, D.C.,” Lewis said. His first career was in music ministry, music performance, and teaching. He served in staff leadership positions in churches and synagogues for over 25 years. His professional experience includes working in hospital legal affairs and risk management and public relations at the University of Rochester.
