Wellspring Health Services was founded in 2016 by Dr. Khalid Athar after having served as the Medical Staff President for UVA Culpeper Hospital and spending over ten years serving the community at the Culpeper Surgery Center. The lack of medical care options in the community was a driving force in creating a new and different practice. Redesigning the standard family practice model to one that encompasses accessible family practice & access to specialty services inhouse has already successfully forced change in several other family practices.
The concept of delivering patient care when and where patients want it, has been pivotal to the success of Wellspring. Service lines have been created based off the local patient need and want. We work to reinvent ourselves regularly with the changing market demands while preserving our local roots.
